Final Project

For this project, we were able to choose anything at all we wanted to do. Since I enjoyed doing digital paintings so much, that is what I decided upon doing. Here's how they turned out!

Mailboxes

Barn Door (my favorite!)

My Dog "Tiny"

My Dog "Cuddles"

CD Cover

In this project, we were asked to create a CD cover of our choice. I decided to redo one of my favorite bands, The Fray.

Inside CD (this would be under the actual CD)

This is the very front of my CD (right) and the back of the lyrics booklet (left)

This is one of example of the lyric pages.

Digital Paintings

This project was aimed at exploring using the mixer brush, as well as filters to accomplish a finished painting.
Original.
This is the famous "Mona Lisa" adjusted with my face in place of hers.  I used filters and the mixer brushes to accomplish this work.
Original Photograph.

This is my own digital painting. I went over everything with the mixer brush, with the exception of putting actual color onto the sky. I had a lot of fun painting this one!

Surrealism

Chaos

This image is a combination of the business of my life and the peacefulness of the place I'd rather be. The lightbulb for a head resembles the ideas and thoughts I have...which, having too many, cracks the lightbulb. The scribbles are all the things on my to-do list. The notebook is actually where the scribbles took place. The caution tape is there for the chaos. The background and horse resemble the place where I would rather be when all of the other craziness is taking place.

Surrealism

Joseph Cornell
Untitled [birds]

This caught my eye because of all the different dimensions it seems to have. There are birds behind, in the middle and on the front. The illusion it creates is outstanding. The technique most likely used here was collage and layering. The feel this piece gives me is a feeling of mystery because you're not exactly sure what the message is supposed to be. I really enjoy looking at this piece.

Riopel2dali
Untitled

This artwork really caught my eye. In this photo they too two separate ideas: driving and being underwater to combine them into an interesting concept. The artist of this work says that "photography, painting, and cinema are things that feed his world." This type of surrealism is quite a bit different than the modern surrealism. The mood of most of the artist's work seems very melancholy and mysterious.

Story in a photograph.

My story. On a cold winters day, I took a walk to the mailbox to send my Christmas cards (hence the bulbs). After that taunting task, I was very relieved (hence the smile).
